Assessment and treatment

The initial consultation lasts for up to one our and enables us to carry out a thorough assessment to determine the nature of the problem and to provide the appropriate corrective treatment to relieve the pain and address the underlying cause. Treatment is commenced during the initial consultation. Subsequent appointments for treatment are for up to 30 minutes when we review your condition and progress your treatment accordingly . We are qualified and experienced in the following treatments:

  • Advice regarding self help to speed recovery and prevent re-injury
  • Electrotherapy including interferential, laser, pulsed shortwave, TENS and ultrasound
  • Exercise programmes to correct posture, strengthen muscles, stretch muscles and mobilise joints
  • Graston technique
  • Manual traction
  • Massage and soft tissue techniques
  • Mobilisation and manipulation of joints
  • Fitting of orthotics
  • Pelvic Dysfunction Syndrome (PDS) treatment
  • Rehabilitation following injury or surgery
  • S.A.Q. (speed, agility an quickness training for rehabilitation)
  • Scoliosis reeducation
  • Shoulder instability re-education
  • Taping and strapping
  • Western acupuncture for pain relief

Referrals

You can make an appointment with us direct. Patients are also referred by general practitioners and consultants. A report will be sent to your referring doctor on completion of your assessment.

Telephone 01372 747 719 for more information or an appointment. We will do our best to see you as soon as possible including in the evening or on Saturday. Home visits can also be made when necessary. Please check with your insurance company regarding the extent of your cover for physiotherapy treatment.
