The PILATES theme of the week is SPINAL SIDE FLEXION (SIDE BENDING):

Following on from the last 2 themeof the week (spinal rotation and spinal flexion and extension), we are going to look at spinal side flexion (side bending).

In the free video ‘Improve Your Flexibility and Core Stability with Pilates’ (27 minutes) we focus on side flexion (side bending) exercises of the spine as well as other movements.

EXAMPLE EXERCISES:

  1. Standing side bends.
  2. Mermaid.
  3. Wagging the tail on all fours.
  4. Neck side bends.
